License Renewal & CEU Requirements

License Renewal CEU Requirements Continuing Education Required: 18 hours is required, with a minimum of 6 hours on the most recent NEC, and an additional 12 hours of other related electrical topics for ALL State of Iowa-licensed Master, Inactive Master and Journeyman electrician, whether a Class A or Class B licensee, Residential Master and Residential electrician license. CEU Requirements

If you have not had your license for the full 3-year term, you will need 6 hours of Continuing Education per year since the license was issued, of which at least 6 hours must be over the NEC.

License Renewal: ALL required Continuing Education hours must be completed prior to January 1 of the next license term to be eligible to renew your license for the new 3-year term.
