Continuing Education Requirements
**Important: Please confirm that you haven't completed a course before registering. North Dakota will not award CEUs for completing the same course more than once in a code cycle (example: same sponsor, same title and same class approval number). Read More
North Dakota Electrical Continuing Education Required: Each North Dakota master, journeyman, and class B electrician license are required to take 8 hours of continuing education, of which a minimum of 50% of the hours must be based on the current NEC. The remaining credits must be subjects related to the electrical industry. Online courses must include a section of the North Dakota Laws, Rules and Wiring Standards with accompanying quiz.
North Dakota Electrical License Renewal: Apprentices due: 1/31, Journeyman due : 3/31, Masters due : 4/30; every year. You can renew your license on the Board website.
Effective 5/1/2024, all courses must be on the 2023 National Electrical Code.
