LazerSpot – Really Great Product Offer

Laser, which stands for light amplification by stimulated emission of radiation,  burst upon the scene in 1958 when Arthur L. Schawlow and Charles H. Townes, both working for Bell Labs, jointly published a scientific paper in Physical Review titled Infrared and Optical Masers.

Today, lasers are everywhere and here’s a fascinating and useful example:

We were recently contacted by a small company that needs some help getting their unique laser product off the ground. The company is LazerSpot and when we say small, we mean small – it’s Vic, his wife and their cat. Vic contacted us about this product and told us how it is a replacement for the traditional plumb bob. There is no comparable unit on the market for this price and the payback is immediate since only one person is needed to spot ceiling anchors, lay track lighting or pot lamps.

Vic made such a good pitch that Mike requested one to try out himself – and he was really impressed! It really was designed with electricians in mind. image

Traditionally (you know the drill), in order to transfer markings on the floor to the ceiling, it usually takes a traditional plumb bob, a stepladder, and two guys. With LazerSpot plumb bob, it’s much simpler and you can do it yourself:

1. You place it on the mark on the floor,

2. You level it using the leveling thumb screws, and when the bubbles in the two vials are centered,

3. You turn on the laser and voila! On the ceiling is a dot where the anchor should go.

This product is originally priced at $39.95, but for the next 10 business days Vic is offering his LazerSpot to Mike Holt’s newsletter members for $34.95. Call 613-256-9845 or Email sales@lazerspot.com and tell Vic you’re a Mike Holt newsletter member to order at this discounted rate.

  • I found a laser that is made by DEWALT and it cost more but it is self leveling, is the size of a tape measure, and has a heavy duty plastic case that looks really proffesional because it matches my drills. The LaserSPOT looks good and is priced in the range that any electrician can throw it in a bag or tool box. I will tell people that I know even though i love my DEWALT auto leveling laser.

  • hay , mike i have been useing a lazer for the last 10 years on alot of my jobs . have you ever seen a floor that is leve? well if you now as well as the rest of us know that there is never a leve floor i use a spinning lazer to set all of my wall plugs and all of my hanging lights i find one spot in the building and run with it . if i am run pipe on a ceiling i find two measurements and set the lazer for my streight line and run it . there is all kinds of things lazers are good for in our trade that i carry my lazers from job to job and make everything look equil . and half the time i get alot of comments about the work i do. there are companys out there that offer plumbob lazers and they work great .for setting up big jobs . i am doing a disney store right now and the g.c.loves the fact that we use a lazer all the can lights are streight and so close to perfict i dont think i could do any better and the time is so much faster . for instencts two marks on the floor from the same wall and a minute to set up i have a streight line 200' long from floor to ceiling up and down two walls and another thing is we hang alot of cable hung fictures you can make every one of your lighting circles the same saze on the floor because all of the lights hang the same distance from the floor . just thought i would share some of my lazer time with you .

thank you for noticeing that the lazer is a big part of our lives as electricians. ROBERT BRANTON

  • I've not used one personally and I don't know what they cost, but the Laser Plumb Bob from Rack-a Tiers looks like an easier to use version of the same thing. Thanks for the news letter and passing along good information.
