Ohio Electrical Continuing Education Required: Beginning January 1, 2016, Ohio HB 486 will give contractors in good standing the option to renew every 1 year or every 3 years. Determine if you are in good standing directly with the board.
-Every 1 year renewal: 8 CEU hours due annually (half on code)
-Every 3 year renewal: 24 CEU hours due (half on code)
Specialty Contractors are required to complete 10 hours of continuing education for renewal of their license.
- A specialty contractor who holds only an electrical license can take the remaining five hours in any health and safety, business, or technology course approved by the electrical section;
- A specialty contractor who holds an electrical contractor's license and any other license or licenses can take the remaining five hours of Continuing Education in any course that is approved by any of the specialty sections.
