License Renewal & CEU Requirements

License Renewal CEU Requirements IMPORTANT NOTE: Online courses approved for Ohio require facial recognition software. By taking an online course for Ohio, you agree to the use of photo validation software during the course. You must use a computer or mobile device that has a camera.

Ohio Electrical Continuing Education Required: Ohio Electrical licenses are required to take 10* hours with at least 5 hours of electrical code. Only 50% of your hours may be completed online.
*OAC 4101:16-1-08(c) Licensees who are members of the compliant contractor program shall be entitled to a 2-hour reduction in their yearly requirement for continuing education and an option to renew their license annually or triennially. Annual renewals require 8-hours of CEU and Triennial renewals require 24-hours of CEU to renew.


Ohio Electrical License Renewal: Contractors have the option to renew every 1 year or every 3 years. Verify the dates you renew directly with the board. You can renew your license on the Board website.
