Vocal Smoke Alarm

Children can sleep through just about anything. Click here to watch a disturbing video of children sleeping right through the smoke alarms in their homes. More than half of young children that die in fires are asleep – a solution may be to use a voice alert with a recording of the parent’s voice rather than a beeping alert. Studies are showing this alert to be much more effective in rousing children from sleep.

Good idea it is used in industrial complexes as a package usual alarm but with a voice telling "this is an emergency leave the building by the nearest exit......." This gets a better responce than a plain Jane/Joe siren/beeper alarm.
