Petrol Tank Explodes After Lightning Strike |
On June, 28 2005 an early evening intense rain and lightning storm delivered a lightning strike to the canopy of a Circle K convenience store and gas station in Pinellas Park, Florida causing the tank pad to rise between 3-5 feet. The following article outlines the sequence of events, fuel tank recovery efforts, and cleanup. Also included are pictures taken at the scene which show the extent of the damage.
