I live in Hicksville, NY, which is about 11 miles east of New York City. In the past several years, that have been several cases of stray voltage happening in the City which always seem to get big coverage in the papers. Several cases have involved dogs that died as a result of stepping on manhole covers that somehow became electrified. I beleive that there also have been some cases involving persons who received shocks from other manhole covers. This problem seems to only happen in the city because a large percentage of their electrical lines are run underground. Bill Fleming
