Call for Information – We Need Your Help
We are currently working on a project that is pretty exciting. We are putting together a report naming the most electrically safe and unsafe states. We are determining this by assigning points to states that meet all the criteria that we have set forth. For instance, to be considered the most electrically safe state that state would have to meet all the following requirements:
- Required to be an apprentice before becoming a Journeyman electrician
- Journeyman are required to be licensed and complete continuing education
- Master/Contractors are required to be licensed and complete continuing education
- Professional Engineers are required to be licensed and complete continuing education
- Electrical Inspectors are required to be licensed and complete continuing education
- The state must be operating on and must have adopted the 2005 NEC.
We are finding it difficult to determine the requirements for electrical inspectors in each state. This is where we need your help. Below is a list of the states for which we are missing the electrical inspector information. If you live in one of these states and/or have the following information please E-mail it to: Tara@MikeHolt.com
Here’s what we’re looking for:
Are electrical inspectors required to be licensed?
What are the licensing requirements for electrical inspectors?
Are electrical inspectors required to complete continuing education and if yes, how many hours per year?
Also, if you can provide a link to the website of the board that licenses electrical inspectors that would be great.
