Keeping up with the requirements of the Code should be the goal of
everyone involved in electrical safety. The following is what I feel is an
important rule in the 2020 NEC®, complete with
graphics and a video. I encourage you to use it as a training resource for
your organization, and share it with your colleagues.

Installations supplying shore power in marinas and docking facilities have unique hazards that require increased electrical safety. The use of ground-fault protection, leakage sensing devices, and warning signs are some measures that can raise awareness of possible hazardous voltage and currents present in the water of marinas and docking facilities, and provide some level of protection. The 2020 NEC saw significant changes in the requirements for marinas and docking facilities in Article 555.
