July 4 - Independence Day

From 1776 to the present day, July 4th has been celebrated as the birth of American independence.

Americans started the tradition of patriotic celebration after the War of 1812, in which the United States faced Great Britain. In 1870, the U.S. Congress made July 4th a federal holiday and in 1941 it became a paid holiday for all federal employees. Over the years Independence Day has remained an important national holiday and a symbol of patriotism.

Have a happy and safe 4th of July,
The Mike Holt Team
