January 9 is National Law Enforcement Appreciation Day. Wear something blue, and If you see a police officer today, tell them thank you!

Law enforcement officers risk their lives every day in their dedication to the communities they serve. They spend countless hours on the job and away from their families in order to serve others.

Find a way to show your appreciation, especially today - there are countless sites on the web, so you can choose one that has a special meaning for you.

I spent several years on a volunteer fire department, working with the local and state police. This is a very tough and demanding job with LOTS of arm chair quarterbacks, that are not rushing to scenes of emergencies, making SPLIT second decisions. Like every other professions, not every one is a model officer. Vast majority are outstanding officers and catch the same criticism. Please appreciate them, you never know when you may need them to help you or your family! These men and women want to go home at the end of the day too!!!
