I correct myself. They did break the wiring caused fires down by conductor type and as I suspected aluminum conductor would account for the increase in wiring caused fires. I know there are safe and sure ways to terminate aluminum conductor and proper ways of stripping and handling it but aluminum is only used because of its cost effectiveness and special precautions needed for it are not often taken because they are not felt to be cost effective. Improperly terminated aluminum connections are a fire waiting to happen. Bob
