Dear Friends,

We are thinking of you during this wonderful holiday season and would like to share a special recipe that's become a legend around the office. Most of you already know Sarina, and if you do, you also know that her love and devotion to Mike and the rest of the team has made her the “Mom” of the company as well as the industry. “She Cares” sums it up.

Here is Sarina's special Brisket recipe that has traveled with her from “The Bronx”, to New Jersey , to South Florida , and now on to all of you. Please pass this along to anyone you think might be interested so they can also indulge in this special recipe from such a special lady. Enjoy!

Happy Holidays!

Some of you gals and guys do like to cook, so print this one out to put in your book.
Forget the chicken, forget the fish, this will be your favorite dish.
Friends and family, far and wide will gather at your table side by side.
You will smile with pride when they rub their tummies and they say
“So delicious , it's even nutritious”.
I don't mean to boast but they will love it the most!
So make your list, and off to the store, just buy your ingredients and no more.
Ten minutes it will take to prepare, once it's cooking, pull up a chair-read a book, watch TV, every 15 minutes check it and see, turn it and baste it keep the flame low, after four hours look and bestow. Cool it and slice it against the grain. It's good for a holiday or just any day, makes great sandwiches for along the way!

Sarina's Brisket of Beef Recipe

Ingredients: One lean flat cut brisket of beef (approx 3 lbs)

One bag of diced frozen onions
Salt, pepper, garlic, paprika
Barbecue Sauce (Masterpiece or even honey Marinade)
2 tablespoons of Crisco oil for sautéing

First, I use a large covered deep fryer in which I add the oil. I put my range on a medium flame. I add the entire bag of diced onions and stir until they are soft. I then add some paprika to cover the onions and brown them as I stir. I wash the brisket under cold water and then add salt, pepper & garlic to taste. Then, I rub in the paprika to the top & bottom of the brisket. I then place in the deep fryer moving the onions to the side so I can brown both sides of the brisket. I add approximately 1/2 cup of barbecue sauce. I pour evenly on top of brisket and then I add about 6 oz of water & cover. I reduce the flame & let it simmer for approximately four ½ hours stirring & adding water as needed, poking occasionally for softness.

RESULTS ARE: DELICIOUS

IMPORTANT! YOU MUST POUR YOUR LOVE INTO IT AS WELL. THIS IS THE MAIN INGREDIENT.

  • I look forward to each of the newsletter not just for the great technical content but for the lighter side topics too.

I seems in my business of being a consulting engineer, I am constantly dealing with impersonal issues with a bottom line. To escape this for even just a brief moment is such a nice relief.

    Thanks for all your content.

  • Mike, tried to print in print friendly mode and it still is too wide a margin, and some words are cut off. I have never had this problem with any other itlems you sent. My wife would like a copy of this if possible. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year. Leo
