Director of Safety Opportunity with NECA

 

 

The National Electrical Contractors Association has asked JDG Associates Ltd., to conduct the search for the position of Director of Safety headquartered in Bethesda, MD, NECA’s national office. They seek a dynamic communicator with a solid background in electrical safety. You will report to the Executive Director of Standards and Safety and support NECA mission:

 

  • To foster a commitment to workplace health and safety in the electrical contracting industry.
  • To promote safety programs and training that helps save lives, reduce workplace accidents, injuries, and illness.
  • To help reduce costs associated with workplace accidents.

 

Compensation: $75,000 to 85,000 plus excellent benefits.

 

Your Principal Responsibilities will be:

  • To monitor Federal legislation and regulations concerning OSHA and safety, developing proposal and written comments when appropriate.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain a comprehensive body of safety and insurance services for electrical contractors.
  • Develop materials to educate members on related electrical safety and workplace safety issues.
  • Promote proactive programs and services that create a safer work environment.
  • Assist chapters and members in implementing safety programs and safety objectives.
  • Develop articles and other related safety material for NECA News, Electrical Contractor magazine, and the NECA website.
  • Travel will average 30 to 40 percent.

You will have:

  • University degree, with a minimum of three to five years work experience performing similar tasks related to this position.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Working knowledge of the field of Occupational Health and Safety
  • Experience in electrical safety standards development and committee work desirable
