My Amazing Mom

I regret to inform all of my friends and family that yesterday morning “The Amazing” Eleanor Irene Dalven, my beloved mother has left me to be an orphan.  She was my best friend and I will miss her terribly.  I have been blessed to have wonderful parents. My mom's passing was somewhat a surprise.  She was an independent woman who lived on her own, prepared her own meals, went to the beauty parlor, not only for hair cuts but her regular manicures, played cards with her friends and celebrated all birthdays, anniversaries and holidays with us even though she was 94 ½ years young.  As long as I can remember she never said a bad word about anyone and was always a good listener, she was very understanding and never forced advice on me.  Yes, I guess I knew in my heart that she was getting very weary…just watching Regis “Do You Want To Be A Millionaire” and Lingo on TV all day for what else could she do?   She was a wonderful daughter who cared for her parents until they passed, cared for my wonderful father, Dave and of course me and my husband.  My children always had been treated to a home cooked meal, never a frozen anything as well as lot's of love and understanding. As for me what can I say, she was my everything!

When Tomorrow Starts Without Me

When tomorrow starts without me,
And I'm not there to see,
If the sun should rise and find your eyes
All filled with tears for me;
I wish so much you wouldn't cry
The way you did today,
While thinking of the many things,
We didn't get to say.

I know how much you love me,
As much as I love you,
And each time that you think of me,
I know you'll miss me too;
But when tomorrow starts without me,
Please try to understand,
That an angel came and called my name,
And took me by the hand,
And said my place was ready,
In heaven far above,
And that I'd have to leave behind
All those I dearly love.

But as I turned to walk away,
A tear fell from my eye
For all my life, I'd always thought,
I didn't want to die.

I had so much to live for,
So much left yet to do,
It seemed almost impossible,
That I was leaving you.

I thought of all the yesterdays,
The good ones and the bad,
I thought of all the love we shared,
And all the fun we had.

If I could relive yesterday,
Just even for a while,
I'd say good-bye and kiss you
And maybe see you smile.

But then I fully realized,
That this could never be,
For emptiness and memories,
Would take the place of me.

And when I thought of worldly things,
I might miss come tomorrow,
I thought of you, and when I did,
My heart was filled with sorrow.
But when I walked through heaven's gates,
I felt so much at home.

When God looked down and smiled at me,
From His great golden throne,
He said, "This is eternity,
And all I've promised you."
Today your life on earth is past,
But here life starts anew.

I promise no tomorrow,
But today will always last,
And since each day's the same way
There's no longing for the past.

You have been so faithful,
So trusting and so true.
though there were times
You did some things You knew
You shouldn't do

But you have been forgiven
And now at last you're free.
So won't you come and take my hand
And share my life with me?

So when tomorrow starts without me,
Don't think we're far apart,
For every time you think of me,
I'm right here, in your heart.

  • Sarina,

I am so sorry for your loss! I lost my mother on January 9th of this year, so I share your sorrow. My mother was only sixty years old, and she struggled at the end due to cancer. She did not want to die, and she particularly regretted leaving her six grandkids. I miss my Mama every day, but I have found, as time has passed, that it gets a little easier to recall the times we laughed instead of simply feeling a void from her absence. I can't tell you how many times I have gone for the phone at work to tell Mom something only to remember that I couldn't call. Thank you for sharing the poem. It meant so much to me. Hang in there!

    God Bless, Lisa

  • What a wonderful tribute you wrote to your mom. I am very sorry about your loss. I lost my Grandmother recently and my mom is having a hard time coping with life without her mom. I am sending her the poem you added to help her realize how at peace her mother is. Thank you for helping my family while dealing with a terribly sad situation of your own. • Dear Serina, I know you are very sad at this moment. I am very sorry to hear of your loss, and God's gain, it also makes me sad, because I don't know what to say to lift your spirits up. Maybe I could remind you of the advice you gave me when my lovely wife Dale passed away at the age of 50. I felt very bitter that she had gone on ahead to be with the lord, and left me and 2 children. We were lost for a long time, but when I was in Orlando to one of Mike's pre-test seminar's you told me, "just trust in the lord, and soon I would be able to see only the good, and to walk tall, hold my head high, and give my family enough love for a mother and father". At no time did you mention self pitty, money, only self motivation and pride in my family. So Serina, please allow me to return the advice and comforting thoughts you gave me, it really helped me, and I sincerly hope you can find the time to enjoy the rest of the time here on earth with you family, friends, and last but not least Mike. Respectfully your friend, Jimmy McDuffie McDuffie Electric Clewiston Florida.

  • Mike, I'm getting lots of inquiry about installing separately derived generators in the hurricane area. Many have a meter-main with four subpanels. As the ungrounded conductor is unreliable in this post storm situation, I have suggested removing the meter, disconnecting the grounded conductor at the neutral bus and connecting the generator outputs , grounded conductor, and bonding conductor at the meter-main. This, however, leaves a main bonding jumper at the meter-main as well as at the generator. Please comment. Please extend our condolences to your wife. Thanks

If I may ask though who is Sarina to MHE? I dont mean to be rude just wondering how the family all ties together.

  • Sarina, thanks for the poem. The other day while I was visiting you and your office facility, I was flooded with the memories of my own mothers passing. Your love and devotion is very evident, I'm glad that your mother has such a good and caring daughter. As I left your place I felt impressed to ask the Father to fill your void with his love and pressence, I hope he has and will continue to. Again, thanks for the poem, it has blessed me.
