2005 US Barefoot Waterski Nationals
Wow!  Mike did it again!  As some of you already know Mike Holt is a National Barefoot Waterskiing Champion that won the Men 4 Division in 1999 and the Men 3 Division in 1988. This year at the 2005 US Barefoot Nationals he's brought home another crowning victory! The 2005 Nationals were held in Austin, Texas earlier this month and Mike won all three events (Wakes, Tricks and Jumping), the overall title in the Men 5 Division, and set two national records in Wakes and Tricks!

This year Mike skied above the existing national record in two events – multiple times. The Tricks record was 1450 points, and Mike scored 2100, 2200, and 2700. The Wakes Record was 9.2, Mike skied 12.5, and 13.2. How does he find the time? Mike is a strong advocate of the importance of balancing life and work and does whatever it takes to make time for the things that make him happy. He's a true inspiration to all of us.

Everyone here at Mike Holt Enterprises is truly proud of Mike's accomplishment and wanted to share his success with all of you. To read more about the 2005 US Barefoot Nationals visit http://www.barefootcentral.com/2005 National Frame.htm

  • Mike I appreciate the information you sent me on water shock. My wife and I have a one year old and he enjoy going out on the lake and rivers with us. Once I read the information about water shock, I explain to my wife the important of being aware of her surroundings when out on the lakes, and what to look for before intering the water. It's amazing I'm an a 53 year old male with a one year old son. He's a God send, and I wouldn't want anything to happen to him.

    Thank-you much for that information

    Sincerely

Floyd H. Mack President of Wamba Remodeling Electrical Contractor.

  • Nice going, Mike. Somehow, I always figured you could walk on the water. What is the minimum speed you need to barefoot water ski?

  • Mike: I really have mixed feelings about you tooting your own horn at this particular time. No doubt your achievements are worth noting. It just struck me to be insensitive in light of the chaos and pain left in the wake of Hurricane Katrina. It seems your national platform could be used to encourage others to help in their communities somehow, particularly where they have people who fled the devastation and will be in shelters for many days and weeks to come.
