To my Christian Brothers and Sisters

The following might be what Christ would like us to understand about His birthday.

Dear children,
It has come to my attention that many of you are upset that folks are taking My name out of the season. Maybe you've forgotten that I wasn't actually born during this time of the year and that it was some of your predecessors who decided to celebrate My birthday on what was actually a time of pagan festival, although I do appreciate being remembered anytime.

How I personally feel about this celebration can probably be most easily understood by those of you who have been blessed with children of your own. I don't care what you call the day. If you want to celebrate My birth just, GET ALONG AND LOVE ONE ANOTHER. Now, having said that let Me go on.

If it bothers you that the town in which you live doesn't allow a scene depicting My birth, then just get rid of a couple of Santas and snowmen and put in a small Nativity scene on your own front lawn. If all My followers did that there wouldn't be any need for such a scene on the town square because there would be many of them all around town.

Stop worrying about the fact that people are calling the tree a holiday tree, instead of a Christmas tree. It was I who made all trees. You can and may remember Me anytime you see any tree. Decorate a grape vine if you wish:  I actually spoke of that one in a teaching explaining who I am in relation to you and what each of our tasks were. If you have forgotten that one, look up John 15:1-8.

If you want to give Me a present in remembrance of My birth here is my wish list.
1.  Instead of writing protest letters objecting to the way My birthday is being celebrated, write letters of love and hope to soldiers away from home. They are terribly afraid and lonely this time of year. I know, they tell Me all the time.

2.  Visit someone in a nursing home. You don't have to know them personally. They just need to know that someone cares about them.

3.  Instead of writing George complaining about the wording on the cards his staff sent out this year, why don't you write and tell him that you'll be praying for him and his family this year. Then follow up. It will be nice hearing from you again.

4.  Instead of giving your children a lot of gifts you can't afford and they don't need, spend time with them. Tell them the story of My birth, and why I came to live with you down here. Hold them in your arms and remind them that I love them.

5.  Pick someone that has hurt you in the past and forgive him or her.

6.  Did you know that someone in your town will attempt to take their own life this season because they feel so alone and hopeless?  Since you don't know who that person is, try giving everyone you meet a warm smile it could make the difference. Also, you might consider supporting the local hot-line, they talk with people like that every day.

7.  Instead of nit picking about what the retailer in your town calls the holiday, be patient with the people who work there. Give them a warm smile and a kind word. Even if they aren't allowed to wish you a "Merry Christmas" that doesn't keep you from wishing them one. Then stop shopping there on Sunday. If the store didn't make so much money on that day they'd close and let their employees spend the day at home with their families.

8.  If you really want to make a difference, support a missionary, especially one who takes My love and Good News to those who have never heard My name. You may already know someone like that.

9.  Here's a good one. There are individuals and whole families in your town who not only will have no "Christmas" tree, but neither will they have any presents to give or receive. If you don't know them (and I suspect you don't) buy some food and a few gifts and give them to the Marines, the Salvation Army or some other charity which believes in Me and they will make the delivery for you.

10.  Finally if you want to make a statement about your belief in and loyalty to Me, then behave like a Christian. Don't do things in secret that you wouldn't do in My presence. Let people know by your actions that you are one of mine.

P.S. Don't forget:  I am God and can take care of Myself. Just love Me and do what I have told you to do. I'll take care of all the rest. Check out the list above and get to work; time is short. I'll help you, but the ball is now in your court. And do have a most blessed Christmas with all those whom you love and remember,

I love you.

  • Sorry for being so late on this post but just read the letter. Those have been my thoughts for years. I do not get up set over "happy holidays" I do not get up set pver removing a manger scene. My Jesus is sitting at the right hand of God now and I worship him as such. His death and resurrection is what was important. Thanks and God bless Mike.

  • I just received your christmas story 1/3/07 but never to late to hear the good words. I was so troubled when the rabbi wanted the CHRISTmans tree taken down at the airport unless he could place a seven foot minora, then I started thinking next it will be take it down or put up decorations for Kawannza or take it down or I'll sue becaus I'm not a beliver and I'm offened. Where did this all start and where is it going to stop? I loved the Sunday idea . I believe all familes should go to church or take time at home to talk and share the lords word and sit down together and give thanks for the food placed befor them. One person can take prayer out of school now they are atccking our flag and it's wording Again where does it stop and when do we rise up and say ENOUGH. God Bless You

  • Mike stand your ground in your faith and beliefs, it makes a difference to those that care and share in the same faith as you, and others like me. No person on eath who believes in a different type of faith or religion should object to your faith and beliefs. If they do, they must have a hard time with their own faiths and beliefs.

I am one who deals with my beliefs in a different way because of my native indian hertiage and life experiences. This is my way and most people tend to disagree with my way, it works for me. But my whole life I have told others as long as you have a faith in some form you will be ok.

I have served this country as a Marine and I was placed in harms way to protect this country's way of life for all our freedoms we hold dear today. I know there are many others who paid the price with their life to uphold our freedoms. At no time as a Marine did I ever think of not giving my life as others did because I didn't agree with others religion, skin color or political beliefs. I also believe anyone has served in defense of our country would agree with this statement of fact.

To all at Mike Holt's Company, and everyone who reads this reply. I wish you peace on earth, good will to all, happiness, good health, and a special wish of safety for all our service personnel who can't be with love ones at this time of year. This also goes out to Mike to!

Keep the faith as you have done in the past, I for one am glad you stand up for your beliefs and faith.

Thanks for your frank honest words or support there of.

I amazes me how we can have enough religion to incite war and hate but not enough to incite tolerance.

To know and understand, one only has to ask, receive, and cherish the spirit. It is simple.

Often the simple things are the most difficult like faith.

    Thanks for your unwavering service.

  • I read your newsletter twice, along with the comments here, before deciding to respond. I was surprised to find a message of tolerance peppered with politics, righteousness, and ironically, intolerance. First off, the reader is informed that the message is for Christians, as if to say others should leave now. Next, we are advised on how to treat the President, how to support the war effort, and how to boycott merchants by not shopping on Sunday. Finally, we are reminded about who owns your website and what we agreed to by visiting it. Scattered about within are some wonderful messages about helping others & spreading good will, but they are easily lost in an almost militant overtone. For the record, I am a Christian. I try to lead a good life, help others if I can, and maintain the true spirit of religious holidays. But in doing so, I don't place restrictions, conditons or mandates on others. Rather, I hope my actions set an example. Wishing all people everywhere a peaceful holiday season,

Special thanks to you for having the moral courage {spelled "guts"} to speak your mind in this forum. No doubt there may be some who will choose to take offense, but thank God and our great nation, and the brave men and women who are defending her for their right to so choose.

Some may also be in disagreement over portions of the "code". Certainly you have voiced disagreements with some portions, but we need not choose to belittle or become rancerous about it. We are after all BROTHERS, blessed with the right to our opinions; even to be wrong! Bottom line: Whose forum is this?!

  • Another Good Reminder from Mike and Crew! As the text says: "Why Can't We All Get Along"? While I was in the hospital for 15 months, only 3 out of 5 neighbors helped my wife with any chores at all & one of them is an elderly retired Math Professor from a well known University who can hardly walk - but was one who helped at any point the best she could - A True Neighbor! The two holdouts are the best able bodied, yet failed to appear. Our local airport (SeaTac) is having problems with a Christmas Tree Display - perhaps you've all seen the issue on the news. Perhaps they'll provide a "Meditation" room like they had for years with differing artifacts depicted on differing walls for each and all to utulize as desired from time to time. Theres more than one way to reach the ultimate - after all 3 out of 4 can't be excluded can they?

  • Mike,

I whole-heartedly agree with what was written. However, my battle is not as much with people taking Christ out of Christmas as it is with people trying to take Christ out of everything. I am fully aware that Christmas is celebrated on what used to be a pagan holiday, but it is now a Christian holiday. It is the day we do celebrate His birth since we don't know exactly when He was born and I, as a Christian, want to celebrate when God came down to us.

The mention of God was taken out of our schools and if we don't fight to keep Christ in Christmas, they will continue and soon the name of Christ and the mention of God will be out of Christmas, Easter, in our Pledge of Allegiance, and "In God we trust" will be taken off our money.

We are a great nation because of our morals and our morals came from our creator. If our creator is taken out of our lives, our morals will continue to decline and this will no longer be a great nation.

  • I don't know why the world fears or hates Christians. We never push our selves on people even though they feel like we do. We are the first to help, the first to forgive, the first to defend the weak, the first to give. We ask nothing in return. Our faith would never encourage hatred of nonbelievers, but rather compassion and love. When people open their eyes to truth, they see that what Jesus offers is the greatest gift of all. The thing that makes Christians different is that we don't have to earn right standing with God. It is free to those who will receive. All other "religions" must earn their way to heaven, so they are willing to hurt others to gain acceptance from their god. I hope that this email will cause even one person to receive the greatest gift of all. God bless all.

We should celebrate Easter with more giving than any other time of the year it is, after all, the time that represents God's greatest gift to mankind, his son's blood and the sacrifice of his life for us to have a chance at eternal life. Be thankful everyday for what you have and especially for those you have that love you.

You really cared about my feelings and you took the time to respond to my comments by explaining the true goal of the quiz and showing me how it could help me learn. That response changed my outlook on life a bit. I am a christian and have been since 1976. Just because one is a christian most of his life does not mean he will always listen to the Spirits whispers. Since that internet corresponces with you I have worked hard to be more patient with others and more open to criticism. I have also work to be more attentive to the guidance of the Spirit in my life! Your letter of today has, again, rattled my chain for the better!!! I, as others, have been very irritated by the "happy holidays" trend. I now realize that I should, again, stop complaining and do something! Thank-you!!! Mike, you are a true soldier for God! Keep up the wonderful work you do!

    God bless you and ALL.

MERRY CHRISTMAS, May GOD and Christ occupy your life.
