Keeping up with the requirements of the Code should be the goal of
everyone involved in electrical safety. The following is what I feel is an
important rule in the 2023 NEC®, complete with
graphics and a video. I encourage you to use it as a training resource for
your organization, and share it with your colleagues.

With each new edition of the National Electrical Code, more locations require GFCI protection, and of course, this is a good thing considering GFCI's proven track record of saving lives since the 1970s.
But what if GFCI protection creates more of a nuisance than a benefit? Such might be the case when it comes to GFCI protection of certain outdoor outlets as required by NEC section 210.8(F).
Learn how the NEC considered such outdoor outlets by reading the attached text and watching this brief video where Mike and the team explain the exception(s) to 210.8(F).
