Keeping up with the requirements of the Code should be the goal of
everyone involved in electrical safety. The following is what I feel is an
important rule in the 2020 NEC®, complete with
graphics and a video. I encourage you to use it as a training resource for
your organization, and share it with your colleagues.

Bonding and Grounding of PV Equipment is a requirement of Section 690.43 in the NEC and references sections in Article 250. Metal parts of equipment related to PV systems must connect to the equipment grounding conductor just like any other electrical installation. But which components of a PV system get bonded and grounded? Is there a difference? What gets bonded to what, and what gets grounded to where? Due to the uniqueness of PV system installations, we need to know how to bond the metal mounting support structure and where to route the equipment grounding conductors. It is also vital to know which Article 250 requirements for bonding systems over 250V-to-ground are applicable.
Join Mike and a panel of experts as they explain how to ground (and bond) PV system equipment and why it must be done correctly!
