As part of my ongoing focus on electrical safety, we
update our annual report that assigns a grade to
U.S. states for electrical standards that are mandated
state-wide. I've had feedback to say that
there is a state that has a
"good grade" but that state is renowned for the
worst electrical wiring! Or that, even though a state requires electrical inspectors to be certified,
there are rural areas in that state to which no inspectors are assigned!
I recognize that there
are a lot of individuals that are passionate about
electrical safety, and they do everything that they
can to introduce laws and measures in their
communities to achieve those goals. I salute them and
their efforts. All we can do here with this report, is standardize the measurable
criteria that we can apply across the board to compare
the efforts that each state is making.
How does your
state rank?
Congratulations!
To the following states with an A+ ranking:
Delaware, Iowa, Maine, Minnesota, North Dakota, Oregon, South Dakota, Wyoming.
