Keeping up with the requirements of the Code should be the goal of
everyone involved in electrical safety. The following is what I feel is an
important rule in the 2020 NEC®, complete with

What on earth are Interconnected Electrical Power Production Sources [IEPPS]? As Solar PV and Power Production Systems become more common, so too does the need for Energy Storage Systems. All of these systems (when present) need to work together in parallel with the primary source of electricity (utility power) but the rules for each of these components are contained in different articles throughout the Code. Such is the case for Interconnected Electrical Power Production Sources [Article 705], which was originally a part of Article 690.
To understand how these different power sources interact with one another you need to become familiar with Article 705 and that starts with the Scope of the Article [705.1]. Read the text and watch the video as me and a panel of experts explain just what an IEPPS is and what is covered in Article 705.
