  • It seems a little quick and high level for an important topic.

What's done is done, BUT WHAT ARE WE DOING TODAY TO MAKE RETROFIT & UPGRADE AND INSPECTION EASIER FOR FUTURE GENERATIONS?

We still bury wires inside walls and crawl spaces that require demolition or tunnel rat aerobics to access and fix anything.

Why not a plan on how we can wire a house or commercial structure so it can be accessed, inspected, modified, or fixed, quickly and easily? How about better practices of documenting the wiring and modifications? Most places I've been in are as well documented as the locations of the mines were when I was on the DMZ, which is to say, we're not sure but we think this is some of it.

I think NFPA and the NEC should address this issue more vigorously. No one knows where all of the wires go. Everyone deviates from the layout, even just a little. It reminds me of the story of the Nuclear Enterprise Carrier, when they found a sealed in room full of equipment. The shipyard forgot to install a door, so the crew had to torch the wall open and put one in themselves.
