Report on Meetings - UL / IAEI

I wanted to pass along to you a report which contains questions and answers from the 2018 meetings between UL and Electrical Inspectors at IAEI Section meetings. It may provide insights into UL's purpose behind certification of electrical equipment to meet the requirements of the NEC®. I hope you find it has value.

Historically the section meetings have provided for an open exchange between the electrical inspection community and UL regarding any subject of interest to authorities. The questions and answers in the report represent the items discussed during the meetings.

  • I have a question re: NEC 90.7 & 110.2,3... Do these articles apply to 24VDC industrial controls & devices e.g., proximity switches, 24VDC motor starters, pushbuttons, 24VDC control panels?

    I'm pretty sure I know the answer but I just want some clarity.
