Safety Hazard - Kohler Service Entrance Automatic Transfer Switch Overheats!

The cable and screw terminal joint may relax creating a potential risk of heating and possible failure of the connection.

Kohler Co. has recalled their service entrance Automatic Transfer Switch that is grey with an aluminum enclosure. The product measures 735 mm by 416 mm by 175 mm in size and weighs 14 kg.

Hazard Identified: The cable and screw terminal joint may relax creating a potential risk of heating and possible failure of the connection. Approximately 1,170 units of the affected products were sold in Canada. The recalled products were sold from October 2014 to January 2018.

Distributor: Kohler Co., Kohler, Wisconsin, USA.

What you should do:
Consumers should contact their authorized distributor to arrange a repair of the affected transfer switch.
If consumers do not know which authorized distributor to contact, they can contact Kohler at 1-800-892-7709, Monday through Friday from 7:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. CST, by email, or visit the company's website.

Please note that the Canada Consumer Product Safety Act prohibits recalled products from being redistributed, sold or even given away in Canada.

  • Ive come across a generac a.t.s. That had similar lug issues.#6 thhn seems too small for the utility power end of the switch. Also on this particular part the lug hold down screw from the back, was factory loose.
