- New torque tightening requirement for terminations
- Expanded GFCI applications in other than dwelling units
- New receptacle outlet requirements for meeting rooms
- Revision that now prohibits pool structures from being used intentionally as a grounding electrode
- Removal of temperature adder table for rooftop cable installations
- Revised the scope of Art. 555 to include both commercial and non-commercial docking facilities, as well as reduced the ground-fault protection trip limit from 100mA to 30mA
- New requirement for surge protection of critical operations data systems
