Happy Thanksgiving |
|
|
Thanksgiving is such a busy time for people and it’s easy to get caught up in the food and fellowship that has come to mark this holiday, but it’s also a time when we should stop and consider what we’re thankful for. It’s a time to be grateful for our blessings!
Mike Holt Comment: I’d like to take this time to publicly praise God from whom all blessings flow. I pray that each and every one of you have a safe and blessed Thanksgiving. God bless.

HI Mike, thanks for the blessings, and may the Good Lord bless you the same. Just want to say a big "thank you" for all the help i've been receiving through your newsletters, it has helped me been a better electrician than before. Planning to buy some of your materials now. So again, may our Good Lord continue pouring his blessings on you and your family. Danny From Belize. Danny Mai November 29 2015, 9:49 pm EST Reply to this comment |
I have a 120 V 25amp fused disconnect switch, which is protected by a 30 amp MCB. The fused switch disconnect is no longer servicing anything. Can I run 1/2" Emt from the Fused disconnect to a weatherproof 15amp Gfci which is fed with 14 gauge wire. Should I use 12 awg cable, I would also reduce the MCB and the fuses in the switch disconnect. I would prefer to run a new circuit instead of adding on to a fused disconect switch. Is there anything in the NEC code book which states that you can either do this or not.
personally i think its a bad idea, I am a 1st year apprentice and I seem to learn more via teaching myself due to poor teaching via the journeymen that I work under. I hope that this is not a silly question to ask I am reading the Nec 2014 but it can be slightly overwhelming. Graham November 27 2015, 9:04 pm EST Reply to this comment |

Need your input and or NEC REFERENCE, residential new construction, owner wants a 240 volt 30 amp female receptacle on exterior wall to plug a portable generator in . Safety is my concern . If he doesn't turn off the main breaker he would hot up the power company lines, also he would have a male end hot with the generator running.
