LEDs vs. CFLs
Most people have accepted that incandescent light bulbs are on their way out. But now the thinking is that CFLs may be following suit and also becoming extinct!
John Quain’s article for FoxNews.com explores the reasons that he feels LEDs are winning the lighting war because of the significant advances they have made in the last couple of years.
- LEDs are more efficient, saving electricity – and money
- LEDs can replace everything from reading lamps to overheads
- LEDs do not contain hazardous, mercury-tinged gas
- LEDs come on instantly (no need to warm up, like CFLs)
- Most LEDs are dimmable
“In the meantime,” says Quain, “there's no reason to buy CFLs, which are yesterday's technology. LEDs are safer, brighter, and better.”
