Scam – Labor Law Compliance Notice

Image1 Labor Law Compliance information is provided free by the state/federal departments of labor, and you don't have to purchase them from some hyped up 'consulting' group.

Federal and state authorities require businesses to display information on proper labor practices, including the minimum wage. However there are laws that require firms that sell businesses posters with this information to notify potential customers that such postings are also available online and free-of-charge from the government.

Note that posting requirements vary by statute; that is, not all employers are covered by each of the Department's statutes and thus may not be required to post a specific notice. For example, some small businesses may not be covered by the Family and Medical Leave Act and thus would not be subject to the Act's posting requirements. For information on coverage, visit the Employment Laws Assistance for Workers and Small Business (elaws) Poster Advisor.
