Apps for the Electrical Industry

Description: Image Thanks to all of you that responded to our newsletter on September 17 in which we asked you for your favorite apps.

We’ve put together your recommendations on our Links page which you can also access directly by clicking here: http://www.mikeholt.com/apps.php

Have an idea for an app that the industry needs? Send us your ideas. We have an app in production that should be ready to release in spring of 2013, but we would love to hear your ideas about apps we should be developing to meet your needs.

As you use these and others (the free and the paid) we encourage you to send us your feedback by posting a comment on this newsletter or emailing us at info@mikeholt.com.  There are thousands of apps in the market, and many more being introduced daily. Not all of them will be useful or worth downloading, even if they are free.  Any recommendations and comments would be welcome so that the information on our web page remains helpful.

  • I have tried NEC Quick - It works quite well for the most used 2011 NEC look up tables including wire ampacity, conduit fill motor FLA, grounding and more. https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/a-nec-quick-reference/id474647605?mt=8 It runs $1.99 at the present time.

Southwire also has a nice, and FREE, voltage drop calculator. https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/southwire-voltage-drop-calculator/id440338420?mt=8
