If you have cables short in a panelboard can you butt splice them or twist nut splice then to extend them to connect to the CB

Questions not related to the Newsletter should be posted on the Code Forum at www.MikeHolt.com. But I'll answer your question, yes splices are permitted in a panelboard, see 312.8.

RE: "Illustrated Guide to Understanding NEC Requirements for Solar Photovoltaic Systems" Reviewing the Table of Contents, it is appears that a major portion of the book covers primarily other sections of the NEC, not PV systems. I have already purchased other Mike Holt Understanding the NEC publications so it seems that "NEC Requirements for Solar Photovoltaic Systems" is an expensive ($48) repackage. I will not purchase this book but would be interested in one with fair pricing that contains the subject referenced. Thank you for the continuing very interesting and informative newsletter.

Jack, this book covers all of the NEC sections that apply to PV systems; doesn't look like this is the book you are interested in, so I guess it's expensive to you. If you fine a book that covers all of the NEC rules that apply to the NEC with outstanding four-color graphics at a lower price, let us know.
