None of the options have a big enough picture of Mike. djames December 23 2014, 3:59 am EST Reply to this comment |
Option 3 Dark followed by Option 2 Dark. Option 1 is too busy. Peggy October 29 2014, 5:41 pm EDT Reply to this comment |
I like "Option 2 Dark". It appears as strong and the insets in option 1 would make it too busy. David Wiles October 29 2014, 8:57 am EDT Reply to this comment |
#2 light. Easy on the eyes. Picture reminds me of an airport, traveling on vacation. Keith October 21 2014, 2:33 pm EDT Reply to this comment |
Option 2 dark, looks good, and not too busy, like the ones with the insets. Ken October 21 2014, 1:39 am EDT Reply to this comment |
I vote for Option 2 Dark --- I like the separation of the photo and the text. I am an electrician, keep it simple. Why not some humor? How about a cartoon electrician with a lot of material scattered about, a set of plans, a code book open and he is looking at Mikes Guide and says, " Oh so that's what they mean." Alan W. Option #2 DARK
Clear and uncluttered. Text stands out.

I like Option 3 Light.
Options 1 & 2 have too much visual distractions (especially so with Option 1). With Option 3 Light, my eye is drawn towards the title without the background competing. Option 3 Dark does the same as Option 3 Light, but the gray text box is too stark and it collides with the background. Marcus Veytia October 20 2014, 10:15 am EDT Reply to this comment |
First, I like the dark option because the light option appears to have Mike's good looking head with a tie floating in space.
Second, I like the inset images because they depict what's inside. A train does not appear to be electrical.
Finally, change the clock time to military time -- 20:17. Wes October 20 2014, 10:02 am EDT Reply to this comment |
Option #2 Dark. It is the cleanest look and offers the best contrast. That is the winner. Rob M. October 20 2014, 9:19 am EDT Reply to this comment |
I don't like Option 3 - background picture mostly covered up - not interesting. I like the dark version of #1 & #2. #2 shows the background better than #1 due to the inserts. If the inserts could be moved down/out of the background that would make #1 better. Allen P. October 20 2014, 8:50 am EDT Reply to this comment |
Option 1 dark is the one that would make me pick it up at the bookstore more likely. Jacob Haynes October 20 2014, 7:21 am EDT Reply to this comment |
Option 3 dark. Your photo, especially in a white shirt, looks better on a solid background instead of half on white and half on black. Of the two solid backgrounds, the gray looks a bit better for having the photo stand out. phil c October 19 2014, 1:46 pm EDT Reply to this comment |
I like option #2 dark the best.
All of the dark options look better than the light ones.
The extra images on the top right of option #1 are not needed--they distract a little.
Option #3 has too much of the image. I like how option 2 is a balance of text to image. Cool image background by the way! I like the train station idea. joe October 19 2014, 12:21 pm EDT Reply to this comment |
I think #2 light is the best of the three proposed
#2 is less cluttered and cleaner to read
The lighter on is also easier on the eyes john gary October 19 2014, 10:41 am EDT Reply to this comment |
The first thing that comes to mind is, "what are the inset pics about"? and how do these pictures tie into the new code. They are hard to see in the black & white pictorial provided.
…. but, let's say that the pics tell a story relating to the new code, I like the "Dark option 1. It's possible that option 3 dark might have been in competition had the pics been included. William Patchen October 19 2014, 9:29 am EDT Reply to this comment |
I like Option 2 Dark. Something about this option pulls me in more than the other options. Austin Yengst October 19 2014, 5:16 am EDT Reply to this comment |
Option 3 dark- but the complex design above the title block text should not be too busy, as shown in the example.
It is hard to focus on what I'm reading with a really complex, busy picture above the title block text. Karen October 18 2014, 11:46 am EDT Reply to this comment |
Option 2 Dark: option 1 is too cluttered, option 3 leaves out alot of the picture details.. Option 2 gives you a wider view, looks organized and it gives a profesional look to the place in the picture. The darker contrast is better but you can save more ink if you change the color black to gray. Mirna H October 18 2014, 11:33 am EDT Reply to this comment |
Option 2, Dark: The picture has a wide view that shows the details of the place more clearly. The dark option looks better. Nelson H October 18 2014, 11:19 am EDT Reply to this comment |
I like the option one, dark, with the 3 inserts. Theresa Childress October 18 2014, 8:14 am EDT Reply to this comment |
I would go with option 2. I believe that the setting of the picture will open the minds of the electrician. It displays the unique ways power is used. Billy Simmons October 18 2014, 6:22 am EDT Reply to this comment |
What you could do is put a box of donuts somewhere in the picture and I'm pretty sure that would be hit!... Okay, option 1, light for me. Paul Spinosa October 18 2014, 2:08 am EDT Reply to this comment |
Option 2 Dark. Easier on the eyes. Allows you to see the whole graphic image. No need for the inset images in my opinion.
Best! Bob Macfadden October 18 2014, 1:35 am EDT Reply to this comment |
Option #2 Dark. Very clean looking and good contrast Mary Ann October 17 2014, 11:58 pm EDT Reply to this comment |
Option #2 DARK: The dark is easier on the eyes. Option #1 is too busy and the floating text box just doesn't work in my opinion. Bob Gerngross October 17 2014, 10:59 pm EDT Reply to this comment |
I will say option 2 dark. Option 1 gives you aittle insight with the three small pictures but we all know what's going to be inside. Option 3 is great if I werevto hang it on my wall for art. Option 3 is the best cover for an all around code update coffee tsnke book. People of all walks can read up on code changes while at Star Bucks... I prefer option 2 by far. It's the most precise and easy to look at. The other options look too cluttered. Option 2 will draw attention without taking way style Beau clough October 17 2014, 8:42 pm EDT Reply to this comment |
